Introduction to Course & Why Your Rules Didn't Work
In the first video, after I introduce myself, I'm going to get you to remember why you were so excited to become an educator. We are going to dream together and realize what teaching really could be. I will give you a simple exercise to help you envision your future success.
In the second video, you are going to learn why YOUR rules didn't work. There are several pitfalls that teachers fall into.
In the third video, I will debunk 3 big myths that too many educators share. These myths are usually a contributing factor as to why their students do not follow their rules.

A New Plan
You will first understand the foundation for all decisions we make in the classroom.
Next you understand how to eliminate all disruptions and distractions. You will develop effective guidelines, procedures and routine and understand how to re-direct and encourage students who aren't behaving appropriately. I will be providing resources and cheat sheets to make this process a breeze!
Once you are properly prepared, you will learn how to turn your sinking classroom ship around. We will gently alert the students of the changing that will be coming, and put a new plan in place that will support their learning.
Next, you will learn EXACTLY how to implement the new plan. You will know what to introduce, how to speak to your class, and precisely what you need to say. We will then move into the 2nd day of the new plan as well. From there, you will have an understanding of the environment you've created.

About the Instructor
Hi, I'm Adam Paltrowitz
I have been a public school teacher for more than two decades with over 20 years at the secondary level. I believe that every student can learn to sing. As a result, I run a self-selected choral program where students are not separated based on talent/skill level. This has lead to a highly-successful program where all students view themselves as soloists and develop a sense of self in their singing. This begins with positive learning environment and the ability for each singer to match pitch.

I am in the business of inspiring others. My blog, resources, and original choral works have been used at primary, secondary, college, and community choirs around the world. I earned a B.S. from New York University and a M.A. and Ed.M. from Columbia University - Teacher's College.
